M8 Ø30
INSERT
SAVINGS
€200,000 PER YEAR

INITIAL REQUEST

  • The proposed geometry for this piece consisted of a hexagonal head with a chip breaker.
  • The proposed material for manufacturing the component was stainless steel.

OUR PROPOSAL

  • We proposed designing the head in a circular shape with two chip breakers.
  • For the external thread, we designed a self-tapping profile with threads in the form of ridges and an entry that facilitates self-centering when mounted in the composite.
  • The material was replaced with steel with a static coating (720 hs. SST).

MUTUAL BENEFITS

  • The new design resulted in a product that was less expensive to produce and assemble, without sacrificing its functionality in terms of torque and extraction requirements.
  • With the new thread, we eliminated microencapsulation and ensured the robustness of the composite in case of a possible breakage.
  • We optimized the cost of materials.

COUPLING
BUSHING
SAVINGS
€80,000 PER YEAR

INITIAL REQUEST

  • The client used 50 mm bushings machined from solid bar.
  • Needed to develop a 200 mm long extension component.

OUR PROPOSAL

  • We proposed using tube, reducing both ends.
  • Functional toothing was formed based on axial load and client specifications.

MUTUAL BENEFITS

  • A more cost-effective and efficient solution.
  • Finished tube was more economical than solid bar stock.

WELD NUT
Ahorro
€120,000 PER YEAR

INITIAL REQUEST

  • The manufacturing of this piece was made from a solid bar stock with a lower thread along its entire length.

OUR PROPOSAL

  • We proposed making it from a tube and conducting an extrusion process.
  • We defined the functional length of the thread.
  • We developed a machine to manufacture the piece in a single and quick operation without chip removal.

MUTUAL BENEFITS

  • By transitioning from two processes to one, we reduced the production cost of the piece, resulting in significant savings on raw materials and energy, as well as the final price.
